Summary: "Danger!" Luffy cheered, arms thrown above his head.

Exploration does not equal danger. Unless your name is Luffy.

Abort and redirect.

Danger was ever present in the New World. Strong enemies, strange creatures inhabiting stranger lands and marine Admirals nipping at their heels. It would be common sense to make sure to avoid excessive danger if possible. No one would say that Monkey D. Luffy had even a passing acquaintance with common sense.

Nami glared at the two frantically spinning needles on her log pose. She was sure that somewhere out there an actual god was laughing at her.

Unfortunately she didn't even have the slightest opportunity to try and hide the stupid danger sensor. Her Captain's uncanny ability to find peril chose that moment to tune in.

"Ooh! Ooh!" Luffy's head flew over from the top of the figure head followed shortly by his body. He stared at the log pose for a moment eyes tracking the two dangerously spinning needles and then nodded decisively. "The left one. We're going to the left one."

The left needle chose that second to reverse direction and start spinning even faster than before.

No way was she going to such a dangerous place. "No!" Nami snapped shielding the log pose from his gaze.

"But Nami..." he whined in complaint.

"No!"

Her Captain's bottom lip jutted out unattractively.

"I said no and I'm the navigator," she said firmly.

It was definitely the wrong tack to take as she could practically see the light bulb above his head as he brightened. "But I'm the Captain so we should go where I want."

Nami bopped him on the head, fiercely wishing that she could knock the idea right out of his head. "Last time you decided that we ended up on Punk Hazard. We are not following that crazy spinning top needle point!"

Usopp sidled into the conversation nodding vigorously. "Come on Luffy, didn't you want to go join in the Reba Kingdom Fighting Tournament? The girl in the bar said that we should follow the middle needle on our log pose if we want to see the tournament."

Luffy's head wobbled back and forth with indecision.

Tapping his chin thoughtfully Usopp leaned in as though to impart knowledge of great import. "The middle one is probably broken. Its behaviour is just too erratic."

"We-ell, the Reba Kingdom Fighting Tournament did sound like it could be fun," Luffy mumbled.

Nami practically swooned in relief. Thank you Usopp the Liar. Unfortunately dear, sweet, soon to be departed Chopper chose to speak up.

"Didn't the Fishmen say that the more erratically the needle behaves the more dangerous the island its pointing to is likely to be?"

"Danger!" Luffy cheered, arms thrown above his head.

Nami shared a wild eyed look with Usopp. They did not want to experience another Punk Hazard.

Usopp pulled his slingshot as Nami distracted her Captain, "Now Luffy..."

Two shots broke against Luffy's chest; a sedative that had Luffy rocking sleepily in place as the other caused vines to wind their way round Luffy and leave him encased in a mass of greenery.

"Ehhh!" Chopper exclaimed looking fearfully between the immobilised Captain and the two perpetrators.

Nami pointed threateningly at Chopper as she started towards the helm. "We are going to a nice safe island that will be nothing like Punk Hazard! No thanks to you and your big mouth."

"Ohoho! Do I spy a mutiny?" Brook laughed before moaning tearfully, "But I have no eyes to spy."

Zoro stared disapprovingly at Nami from where he'd dozing before the commotion.

"What?" she snapped as she carefully changed the Sunny's direction to align with the (nice and safe) middle needle more closely. "What he sleeps through won't hurt him."

Zoro continued to look disapproving.

Nami bared her teeth at him. "I'll reduce your debt by 10,000 belli."

Zoro shrugged casually. "I guess I don't mind where we go as long as there's a fight to be had."

"Nami-shwann's so smart and thoughtful." Sanji cooed as he pirouetted past the Luffy-tree.

"Oi! Get a life you shitty cook," Zoro growled in annoyance.

"Shut up you idiot swordsman," Sanji barked, "The ladies are my life. They are the flowers in my garden, the Sun to my Moon..."

Nami tuned out Sanji's usual drivel. If Zoro didn't make a stand the rest of the crew would be happy to follow Nami's lead.

Luffy might cause some problems when they had to free him, but as long as she found something to distract him it would be fine.

X-X-X

The Straw Hat Crew pelted through the forest, just metres ahead of flying trees and rocks kicked up by the huge lizards chasing them.

"Why is the Reba Kingdom Fighting Tournament a bunch of giant rampaging animals?" Usopp shouted.

"Shishishishi," Luffy laughed as he ran through the forest, leaping happily over falling obstacles.

"Stop laughing!" Nami screamed, "This is all your fault!"

Only Sanji's quick dive saved her from the path of an airborne rock.

Luffy of course wasn't listening to a word she was saying.

He gleefully ducked flying trees, leap-frogged boulders that landed mere centimetres from crushing him and just generally careened excitedly around the forest as he ran.

Laughing. The. Entire. Time.
