Destroyer of Time
"Destroyer of time," they whisper in excitement as he walks down the hallways.
The words of Hevlaska's prophecy follow him through the hallways of The Black Order's headquarters. They're expecting him to be the end of the Millennium Earl.
He's not sure what he'd expected of the Black Order, maybe a castle full of Cross Marians to make his life hell. Instead, he is given a prophecy to protect, words to carve into his heart.
The words tug at him, cause his heart to flutter in hope.
Mana, he thinks, I am going to avenge you.
*
"Destroyer of time," they whisper sadly, as he walks between the makeshift beds of the wounded.
The words claw at him, pound at his heart and make it hard to draw breath through the guilt.
He smiles at them, runs errands for the medical staff, cares for their injuries and it is still not enough. They thank him for his efforts and it burns at him.
He's supposed to be the end of this. He's the chance to end the seven thousand year war.
If only he'd been faster in Edo, if only he had pierced the Earl when he was right in front of him, if only the Earl wasn't alive to send that Level four.
Allen slumps against the walls of his bedroom and tugs angrily at his hair.
If only...
*
"Destroyer of time," they whisper in fear as the Crows drag him through headquarters.
Allen Walker is the Fourteenth, is Nea Walker, is brother to the Earl, is a Noah.
Allen Walker is the enemy of the Black Order.
The Black Order locks him up. He's not to be trusted, an enemy that has infiltrated their ranks. He's a shallow veneer masking a killer of humanity and he's going to turn on them.
No matter how he throws his hatred for the Earl open to their inspection, they will not believe the truth. Nothing he says will sway Leverrier or the Central Agency.
It doesn't matter if they don't believe him, he decides.
He is the adopted son of Mana, General Cross Marian's apprentice, wielder of the Crown Clown and the prophesised Destroyer of Time.
Hevlaska's prophecy was his dream before it was his duty as an Exorcist of the Black Order.
He will kill the Millennium Earl.
*
'Destroyer of time' they used to say, when they were alive to know those words.
Standing atop the corpse of the Millennium Earl, Nea supposes Allen Walker has fulfilled the prophesised words. Technically at least.
Oh, how he'd fought to stay alive, fought not to relinquish his control of their body. How amusing it was to claw away the memories of 'Allen'. How fun it was to have the Black Order help him break down Allen in their fear and hatred of Nea. How nice it was of them to prepare Allen's will to be shoved aside. A broken doll just for Nea.
He really should have let them know how grateful he was before he slaughtered them all.
Giggling he shrugs the thought from his mind. Old news is boring.
Casually kicking the Earl's corpse, he turns to watch the world burn.
